LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Sugar Maples Antiques and Gifts will remain in downtown Jeffersonville under a new business model after the longtime shop ends its standalone run next month.
Sugar Maples announced on social media last week it would be closing its doors on West Maple Street after 20 year in business.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, store owners Diana Kircher and Glenda Bir will be stepping back from day-to-day operations June 30, when Courtney Bryne, owner of The Mercantile New Albany, is expected to take over the lease.
Sugar Maples will remain inside the building as one of the merchants in the curated market.
Kircher told LBF a third business partner recently stepped away for health reasons, and she and Bir decided it was the right time to transition the business.
The shop first opened in 2006 and sells antique glasses, dishes, jewelry, trinkets, figurines and more.
Sugar Maples will continue operating inside the building under its existing name Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
