Louisville police investigating after injured dog found abandoned in bag at Iroquois Park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police is investigating after an injured dog was found abandoned in a bag at Iroquois Park.

LMPD posted on social media Tuesday that a husky named Sammie was found near the park's golf course inside a black garbage bag. Police said a golf course worker found Sammie with twine wrapped around her muzzle.

Due to the severity of her injuries, Sammie had to be euthanized shortly after her rescue.

LMPD's Animal Cruelty Unit is investigating and requesting help from the community.

The red box on the map below is the approximate location Sammie was found, police said.
