LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) ā A student was injured and taken to the hospital after a science project went wrong at a Louisville school.Ā
St. Matthews Fire said one student was injured after a high school science project caught fire just after 11 a.m. at Walden School on Westport Road.
The room filled with smoke and there was some fire, St. Matthews Fire said. Students were evacuated from the classroom. A student, accompanied by a teacher, was transported to a local hospital with minor burns, school officials said.
School is canceled for the rest of the day for the high school, but the elementary and middle schools are still in session.
