LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police activity across southern Indiana Thursday drew attention in multiple communities— including a New Albany motorcycle club — but investigators are not releasing details and say they have not arrested anyone.

Indiana State Police and a SWAT team were first seen Thursday morning at the Blues Motorcycle Club in the 1600 block of East Main Street in New Albany. Photos and video showed troopers in tactical gear preparing to enter the blue building around 10 a.m., drawing attention from neighbors.

By the end of the day, the club’s signage was removed from both the front and side of the building — leaving no visible markings identifying the location.Ā

A neighbor, J. Pesh, said the club was not causing problems.

ā€œThey were very respectable, I got to say,ā€ Pesh said.

Police activity was not limited to Floyd County. State police were also spotted in at least four areas across southern Indiana.Ā

One of those locations wasĀ Drifters Bar in New Pekin — aĀ person who identified themselves as being in charge of the business asked those on scene to leave.Ā

In Harrison County, troopers were also seen at Hogs Tavern on Main Street in Lanesville. The front door was locked and no one responded to knocks.

A nearby business owner, who asked not to be identified, said the number of officers in town was unusual.

ā€œIt wasn’t just marked cars. I thought maybe it was our town cars — it wasn’t,ā€ he said. ā€œIt was state troopers… unmarked cars, marked cars… there was a load of police out in the parking lot just standing there.ā€

Police said the investigation involved multiple locations and search warrants, and there is no danger to the public.

Exactly what investigators were looking for remains unclear. Indiana State Police said if any arrests are made, that information will be released.

This story will be updated.
