LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A new concert series is bringing free live music and community events to southwest Louisville this summer.
The inaugural Southwest Music Series will feature five family-friendly outdoor concerts at locations across the area, highlighting parks, waterfront spaces and community gathering spots.
Organizers said each event will also include local food trucks and a variety of musical performances ranging from bluegrass and Americana to soul, R&B and contemporary country.
The first event, Forest Fest, is scheduled for Saturday at Jefferson Memorial Forest from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Officials said the series is designed to celebrate community while showcasing different areas throughout southwest Louisville.
