LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A southern Indiana woman who pleaded guilty to keeping funds meant for the family of the 18-year old boy who was shot and killed at Harvest Homecoming was sentenced Friday.

A judge sentenced Amber Tower to 30 days in jail and five months of probation after she pleaded guilty to conversion. 

Tower is the owner of Tower's Tees. She sold shirts for a fundraiser in honor of Bryce Gerlach after he was shot and killed at the fall festival in 2024, promising to give the proceeds to his family. But, the family never got that money.

According to court documents, Tower announced she would donate the proceeds from the shirt sales to the family on her Facebook page. From Oct. 14-Oct. 25, 2024, court documents showed she made $20,193.

Tower will now have to pay $15,000 in restitution and do community service.
