LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested Friday afternoon in connection to an April 15 shooting in downtown Louisville that killed one man and injured one woman, police said.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said the Fugitive Unit arrested 36-year-old Christopher Lewis of Louisville in connection to the homicide.

Officers were dispatched around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 to the 800 block of South 4th Street on a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman inside the residence was assaulted during the incident and is currently at UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Lewis was charged with murder, assault in the first degree and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was in court Saturday morning, April 18, where he pleaded not guilty and a judge set a cash bond of $750,000.
