LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Collections will soon begin for unpaid RiverLink accounts.

According to a news release, notices will be sent out beginning May 1. This is for customers who have four unpaid monthly bills for the same crossings.

To check if you owe tolls, visit the RiverLink website and click on "See if You Owe," then enter your bill or vehicle identification number (VIN) and license plate number.

Eligible drivers could also use the RiverLink Fee Forgiveness before their account moves to collections. This waives fees and lowers tolls to transponder rates if a customer opens a prepaid RiverLink account and gets a transponder.

Eligible drivers can enroll by clicking the option to "Update to a Personal Transponder Account," and customer service representatives can also assist at walk-up centers or by phone. Officials said this can bring significant savings.

RiverLink spokesperson Mindy PetersonĀ said about 800,000 vehicles owe tolls totaling $43 million, dating back to April 2023.Ā Notifications will be sent by collections agency Perdue Brandon by text, email and mail.

"This is going to be an extended roll out period because we have a lot of people who owe some of those back tolls and fees," Peterson said.

In January, RiverLink named TransCore as the new toll service provider in an effort to improve customer service.

TransCore’s six-year contract began in February, which includes image review, invoicing and customer service centers — including walk-up centers in both states and a local customer service call center.
