Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear spoke during a ceremony Dec. 5, 2022 at the site of the BlueOval SK Battery Park in Glendale, Ky. A joint venture of Ford Motor Co. and SK On, BlueOval SK is building two side-by-side electric vehicle battery factories on the site in Hardin County.

“The magnitude and significance of this project cannot be overstated,” Gov. Andy Beshear said during Monday’s ceremony.
Ford and SK will receive $250 million upfront from Kentucky taxpayers for the companies' massive battery park in Hardin County. The money is "well spent," Gov. Andy Beshear says.
