LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville basketball added another piece to its 2026 recruiting class Monday, landing a commitment from four-star forward Boyuan Zhang following an official visit to campus over the weekend. The commitment was first reported by Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.

Zhang, a 6-foot-8 small forward originally from China, played this past season for Veritas Prep in California and emerged as one of the top scorers on the EYBL Scholastic circuit. He averaged 20.2 points per game, ranking second in the league in scoring.

The senior is rated as the No. 46 overall prospect in the 2026 class by Rivals, which also ranks him as the nation’s No. 15 small forward and the No. 7 overall player in California.

Zhang chose Louisville after also taking visits to Oregon, Illinois, California and Minnesota.

His commitment continues coach Pat Kelsey’s aggressive recruiting push as the Cardinals build toward the future with a mix of high school prospects and transfer portal additions.

He joins a class that includes Kansas big man Flory Bidunga, Oregon guard Jackson Shelstad, Arkansas transfer Karter Knox, Iowa forward Alvaro Folgueiras, Dayton’s De’Shayne Montgomery and USC big man Gabe Dynes. He’ll also join prep signees Obinna Ekezie Jr. and Isaac Ellis.
