LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two people died and two others were injured after a head-on crash with a dump truck Monday morning in Lebanon, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky State Police, 43-year-old Mahalia Brown, of Magnolia, Mississippi, was driving west on U.S. 68 just before 5 a.m.

Brown crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and into the path of a dump truck. The dump truck driver tried to brake and steer away but couldn't do so in time, and the vehicles crashed head-on.

Police said Brown, along with a passenger in her vehicle, 20-year-old Benjamin Thompson, of Magnolia, died at the scene.

Another passenger in her vehicle was taken to Spring View Hospital with serious injuries.

According to police, the dump truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
