LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — If signs are placed along Kentucky roadways, state officials say they could be quickly removed.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reminding residents and businesses that signs posted along state highways without a permit — including political ads, yard sale signs and other postings — are not allowed.
Officials said the signs can block drivers’ views, create distractions and pose risks for crews working along the roadside.
Anyone placing signs is urged to keep them outside highway right-of-way areas and off fences, utility poles and road signs.
Crews will remove unauthorized signs and hold them for one week before throwing them away.
