LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Emergency Services are responding to a reported fuel leak and hazmat incident Monday evening on Interstate 264 westbound.

According to Louisville Metro councilwoman Crystal Bast, the "significant" leak happened on I-264 West between Dixie Highway, Southern Parkway and 3rd street.

Bast said that a semi-truck traveling in the area may have been leaking fuel. The truck is no longer on the scene, and Bast said it's possible the driver was unaware of the leak.

The right two lanes and right shoulder between mile markers 6.3 and 10 are closed while crews respond.

Drivers should expect delays and use caution when traveling through area.
