LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — University of Louisville trustee Sadiqa Reynolds lost her board seat after the Kentucky Senate declined to confirm her during the 2026 legislative session, university officials confirm.
Reynolds, who was appointed to the Board of Trustees by Gov. Andy Beshear last year to a six-year term, was never taken up for confirmation by the state Senate, effectively removing her from the board.
A UofL alumna, Reynolds is a former judge and previously served as president and CEO of the Louisville Urban League, where she helped lead development of a $50 million track and field complex in Louisville’s West End.
During her time on the board, Reynolds openly challenged federal directives and criticized state lawmakers over efforts to eliminate DEI programs on college campuses.
In response to Reynolds losing her seat, UofL spokesperson John Karman said the board is "thankful for her service to the university and grateful for her contributions as a member of the Board of Trustees."
Reynolds did not respond to a request for comment.
