LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Tracy Davenport was sentenced Monday to federal prison after pleading guilty to defrauding more than 50 customers with her fraudulent pool business.

Davenport, 51, was sentenced to five years and three months in federal prison on 11 counts of wire fraud, one count of bankruptcy fraud and five counts of money laundering. Her sentence will be followed by three years of supervised release. She will also be required to pay $3,398,536.75 in restitution.

Davenport pleaded guilty Feb. 19 after being indicted on 19 new federal charges. Those charges came after she was sentenced to six years in prison on state charges.

The indictment alleged Davenport's company, Davenport Extreme Pools and Spas Inc., engaged in a scheme to induce Louisville-area customers into signing a contract for a pool installation and paying a large down payment up front. That money was then used for purposes other than what was agreed upon.

"Ms. Davenport was a ruthless business owner who intentionally defrauded customers by promising to install a new pool, stealing their down payment, and never delivering a product," FBI Louisville Special Agent in Charge Olivia Olson said in a news release Wednesday.

U.S. Attorney Kyle Bumgarner said Davenport's crimes "caused financial hardships and significant emotional distress."

"Tracy Davenport defrauded numerous people. In attempting to conceal her crimes, she repeatedly lied to victims all the while knowing she had stolen their money," Bumgarner said in a news release.

Jefferson County Commonwealth's Attorney Gerina Whethers said she hopes Davenport's sentencing "provides a measure of closure and justice to the victims, who lost thousands of dollars and waited patiently for a resolution."

There is no parole in the federal system.

In 2024, Davenport was indicted on charges she took money from two families in Bullitt County but never built their pools. Davenport also pleaded guilty in Floyd County to felony theft and fraud charges, and lawsuits have been filed against the pool company. One alleges Davenport spent customer money on "lavish vacations to Las Vegas, personal cosmetic surgeries, a six-figure recreational vehicle, and the purchase of an expensive pleasure cruising lake boat."
