LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A stolen delivery truck taken from a Louisville cancer institute led officers on a pursuit into southern Indiana Saturday morning before ending in a K-9 arrest in Clarksville, authorities said.

The incident began around 10 a.m. March 28 when the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department alerted the Jeffersonville Police Department about a stolen delivery truck being tracked electronically toward the area.

An officer located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop but the driver, identified as Christopher Spencer, fled at a high rate of speed into Clarksville, Indiana.

Authorities said the pursuit ended when the truck became stuck near a floodwall after the driver attempted to drive off-road. Spencer was taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers and a K-9 unit.

Spencer was booked into the Clark County Jail on charges including motor vehicle theft, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief, criminal recklessness and reckless driving.

The Indiana State Police and the Clark County Sheriff’s Department assisted.
