LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested for allegedly stripping naked and touching himself in front of people at Cherokee Park.
Louisville Metro Police said 59-year-old Gregory Mack was arrested Friday night after a few anonymous tips.
In a social media post earlier this week, LMPD said a man was sometimes fully naked at Cherokee Park near Scenic Loop and committed "lewd acts" before running away.
Police said this has happened in front of children. According to police, he was reportedly seen near Hogan's Fountain, the lower soccer fields, Chauffeur's Rest and the Scenic Loop area.
According to court documents, multiple people saw a man masturbating in different places throughout the park.
Court documents state people saw him with his underwear around his ankles and touching himself while watching females at the park.
Multiple witnesses were able to take pictures of him before exiting the park and contacting police.
Mack was charged with first-degree and second-degree indecent exposure.
People who live in Mack's neighborhood were shocked to find out that the man from all the viral pictures lives on their street.
"That's disgusting," Karly Richardson, a resident who lives in the same neighborhood, said.
Another resident, Elliott Haas, thinks Mack's arrest brings negative light to the community.
"It's kind of gross and it kind of just destroys our community as a whole," Haas said.
Mack was in arraignment court Saturday morning, where his unsecured bond was set at $2,500.
Mack is expected to appear in court for a pretrial conference on May 29. If he doesn't appear, he will have to pay the full bond amount.
