LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An alleged suspect in a Meade County fatal shooting was found dead Monday after officers spent hours searching for him.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called around 1 p.m. to a home on Simpson Lane in Ekron after a report of a person found dead inside.
Troopers found 55-year-old Mary Crase, of Brandenburg, dead from at least one gunshot wound. Police said the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Scott Hornback, of Irvington, fled the scene.
Just after 11 p.m., KSP confirmed that Hornback was found dead by officers. A subsequent news release on Nov. 4 indicated that Hornback died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was found in a vehicle at a family member's residence on Burgundy Lane, according to the release, and was pronounced dead by the Meade County Coroner. Â
