LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The former Hooters location on Lewis and Clark Parkway in Clarksville, will soon be home to a pub-style restaurant.

By Golly's Bar & Grill is scheduled to open Thursday, Sept. 25. according to a report from our partners at Louisville Business First

Epic Eeats Restaurant Group invested $350,000 to open the restaurant at 941 E. Lewis & Clark Parkway — where Hooters was located until it closed in 2024. The first By Golly's opened in 1983 in the Cincinnati region and has been expanding. It now has 11 locations.

Lance Sizemore, the CEO for Epic Eeats, said the group considered seven locations in Greater Louisville, as well as surrounding areas, before deciding on the 4,500-square-foot space once occupied by Hooters.

"We knew we wanted to expand outside of Cincinnati, so we looked at Dayton, Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington," Sizemore said. "We found out that Hooters had closed down, and it was the exact footprint we were looking for in terms of square footage. And it being a second-generation space, it had all the amenities we were already looking for."

The new restaurant is expected to employ about 75 people. Plans originally called for the restaurant to open in August, but the date was delayed to allow more time for training and customer service preparation.

"We put a lot more time and investment into training before opening, just to make sure everybody's fully prepared for how busy we think it might be," Sizemore told LBF. We want to do as much business as we can but also make sure we're taking care of our guests and giving them a great experience."

By Golly's is known for its burgers, salads, hoagies, flatbreads, and chicken or fish entrées, as well as appetizers such as wings, mozzarella sticks, loaded nachos and soft pretzels.
