LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A longtime Lyndon restaurant will soon close after serving customers for decades.

Corner Café, located at 9307 New La Grange Road, will close in late April after about 40 years in business, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

Brother and sister co-owners Randy Frederick and Peggy Buchanan told Louisville Business First they are ready for a break after running the restaurant for decades.

Frederick said staffing challenges and family obligations behind the decision, even though business remains steady.

The owners of Tikka House will take over the space and buy the restaurant’s equipment, allowing Frederick and Buchanan to step away from the business.

The restaurant built a loyal following over the years with its American-Italian menu and neighborhood atmosphere.

Frederick and Buchanan plan to close during the third week of April before turning over the space to the new owners.
