Bardstown Police Department accepting applications for new officers through June 12

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Bardstown Police Department is looking to grow its force and is actively recruiting new officers to join its ranks.

Applications are now open through June 12 as the department works to fill positions and reach its authorized staffing level of 33 sworn officers.

The department said pay for lateral officers starts at $56,000, along with additional benefits offered as part of the hiring package. Officials said the goal is to attract both experienced officers and new recruits interested in serving the community.

The push comes as law enforcement agencies across the region continue to focus on recruitment and retention to maintain full staffing levels.
