LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A boil advisory that was in effect for some southern Indiana residents for 24 hours has been lifted.
Sellersburg Water issued a precautionary boil advisory after a water main incident earlier Tuesday in Jeffersonville.
The advisory began at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and ended just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. The advisory applied to all Sellersburg Water customers north of Interstate 265, as well as customers on Coopers Lane and Teakwood Landing Drive in Jeffersonville.
Officials said a contractor at 12:45 p.m. struck a water main near a wooded area around 2960 Veterans Parkway. The main delivers water from the Sellersburg Water Plant on Holmans Lane to the Town of Sellersburg’s water storage tanks.
Water service was maintained for all customers after a 200-foot section of the main was isolated for repairs.
Sellersburg Water conducted testing to confirm water quality before the advisory was lifted.
