LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across Kentuckiana.

Here are a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening the weekend of Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31.

Buy Local Fair

Louisville's annual Buy Local Fair will return to Lynn Family Stadium's Fan Zone from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 31.

The free event is hosted by the Louisville Independent Business Alliance. There will be booths from local shops, organizations and artists, along with live music, food and drinks, a cooking competition and family-friendly activities.

On-site stadium parking is available in the Purple Lot for $10 per carload, so organizers are encouraging attendees to carpool. There is limited free parking on the street.

A portion of parking proceeds will benefit LIBA, a nonprofit that promotes locally-owned businesses.

The event is ADA accessible. Only service animals are permitted.

Downtown Pickleball Street Fest

Louisville Downtown Partnership is partnering with Goodbounce Pickleball Yard for the Downtown Pickleball Street Fest this weekend.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, pickleball will take over East Main Street in downtown Louisville between South Jackson and South Hancock Streets.

The festival consists of tournament play, open play, celebrity exhibition matches and a wellness expo.

This marks the third year for the festival, which celebrates the sport and the "vibrant culture downtown Louisville has to offer."

The festival will transform a section of East Market Street into an outdoor pickleball venue. In addition to pickleball, there will also be yard games and a DJ on hand, as well as a selection of food trucks, a pop-up bar with local beer, and an Angel's Envy bar offering the brand's signature Peach Smash cocktail.

Different fitness classes are available during the wellness expo portion of the festival, including strength and mobility, mat yoga, Pilates, bodyweight fitness and Jiu Jitsu. Attendees are asked to bring their own yoga mat if participating in mat yoga or mat Pilates.

The Corydon Extravaganza is celebrating 13 years of the event, which takes place in the spring and fall.

In addition to vendor booths, vintage and antique finds and handmade goods, there will be a selection of food vendors on hand and live music throughout the day. There will also be a wine bar.

Tickets to the festival are sold at the gate. Early bird pricing is $10 between 8-10 a.m., with general admission tickets costing $5 for the remainder of the day. Children ages 12 and under get in for free. Parking is also free.

Drumming, dance, poetry and vibrant displays of culture are set to fill downtown Louisville as the Africa Day Festival returns to Fourth Street Live! for its second year this weekend.

The free festival, set for 5-11 p.m. Saturday, May 30, aims to introduce more people to African culture while creating stronger community connections through music, food, art and performance.

Festivalgoers can expect African poetry, cultural dancing, live music, musical performances and vendors throughout the evening. Mensah said this year’s event has more structure, including expanded vending and improvements to the event space.

Organizers said feedback from last year’s festival has been strong, with many community members eager for Saturday’s celebration.
